Students recently completed water quality testing training in Alpena at the NOAA center learning chemical and macro-invertebrate testing methods. They also boarded the glass-bottom boat, Lady Michigan, and explored Thunder Bay discussing fisheries, aquatic invasive species, and open water testing equipment. The students finished the trip with an introduction to the area's Maritime Heritage by viewing shipwrecks in the bay. They will use this education to collect and submit data to support the overall watershed study.
