Hands in the dirt. Feet in the water.

The Northeast Michigan Great Lakes Stewardship Initiative (NEMIGLSI) is a network of education and community partners working to promote quality place-based stewardship education opportunities in Northeast Michigan for the benefit of our youth, our community, and our environment.

In partnership with University of Notre Dame student, Zoe Rae Rote, Michigan State University Extension, and Michigan Sea Grant, the NEMIGLSI network recently published a report on the student perspective of place-based education in Alpena County.  These students found value in connecting with their communities, engaging in hands-on learning, exploring future careers paths, and simply having fun!
