What We Do

We support K-12 educators who want to take their students' learning beyond the classroom. NEMIGLSI students engage in place-based learning and implement stewardship projects to protect the Great Lakes. We provide free teacher professional learning opportunities, project funding, connections with community partners, and individualized support based on each school’s needs and interests.

The NEMIGLSI Network includes more than 100 community organizations, including non-profits, government agencies, and local businesses.

Mission

To protect the Great Lakes and environmental resources of northeast Michigan through hands-on, place-based stewardship education in and with the community.

Network History
