Our student-driven project consists of 3 parts. The first part will launch the creation and implementation of our school garden, consisting of native plant species, supporting a developed farm-to- school project. The second part will realize alternative energy education and application in our school. The third part will begin a formal recycling program on the school property.

A unique opportunity has allowed a 5th grade class to participate in piloting the Sturgeon on Loan program. The class is currently taking great care of "Mr. Mustache" each and every day watching him grow.

Our community project is supported by Michigan State University Extension, Golden River Orchard, a local church, The Perennial Garden Club, COPESD, Natureology, Cheboygan Economic Development, Committee, The Straits Area Audubon Society, Mullett Lake Preservation Society and other community organizations yet to be determined.
