Students from Cheryl Mack's sixth grade class presented the results of their Lake Huron Adopt-a-Beach project to the Alpena City Council, and offered suggestions for improving and preserving the city's beautiful beaches. Mayor Matt Waligora presented the students with a certificate of appreciation at the meeting for their contribution to the community as part of their place-based education project.
