8th Grade Natural Resource Day

Gaylord and Johannesburg students learn about forestry, agriculture, and water quality!
Watershed StudiesSustainable SchoolsCommunity and Economic Development

The Otsego Conservation District took over 370 students out to the Louis M. Groen Nature Preserve to explore natural resource topics! Students were transported by tractor pulled wagons to each station, where presenters talked about a range of topics from modern agriculture techniques, chemical tests to determine water quality, soil erosion, forestry, gas and oil, logging history, and wildlife. Students got to spend the day outside, learned a lot about their environment, and had fun with a lot of hands on educational activities!
