Thunder Bay River Watershed Road Signs

We are looking for a few students located within the Thunder Bay River Watershed (TBRW) to look over watershed maps to find locations to place informational highway signs.
Watershed StudiesCommunity and Economic Development

"Entering the Thunder Bay River Watershed.” Those are the words that many travelers will be reading from their vehicles while driving main roads that intersect the watershed’s boundaries. A few years ago the Thunder Bay River Watershed Council decided to purchase the signs and took the initiative to map out road crossing points into the watershed in order to place these informative signs on the roadside. The signs have lain dormant for some years until now, but the project has been resurrected to involve area students who are studying watershed science.  Daniel Moffatt has begun conversation with the council about how to get these signs erected. A few local partners have expressed interest in joining the classes to include a professional education aspect to the signage project as well. Project details such as permitting, liability insurance, transportation and construction need to be addressed.  If you are interested in learning more or becoming involved, Daniel can be reached at daniel.moffatt@noaa.gov.
