(Photo courtesy/Brandon Schroeder) Congratulations to NEMIGLSI teacher Brook Begres on her induction to the Innovative Educator Corps (IEC). Brook, a 4th grade teacher at Au Gres-Sims Elementary, was one of 7 teachers from throughout the state that were recognized for their innovative educational programs by the Michigan Department of Education.

The NEMIGLSI Network is proud to support Brook's class in their Charity Island and Au Gres River watershed studies. These projects are made possible because of strong community support and the active involvement of many diverse project partners: Huron Pines, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Michigan Sea Grant, MSU Extension, Brown's Landing, Charity Island Transport, Michigan Department of Natural Resources, Michigan Natural Features Inventory, Saginaw Bay Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area - CISMA, Saginaw Valley State University and Huron Pines AmeriCorps.
